LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The president of a Las Vegas motorsports company was the man involved in a shootout last week that left the attacking gunman dead, according to a statement from the company.
Baldwin Motorsports said in a press release that president BJ Baldwin was eating dinner with his girlfriend in their car near Tropicana Avenue and Fort Apache Road around 2 a.m. Wednesday, April 22.
They were approached by two men, one of whom pointed a gun at Baldwin's girlfriend and began to fire, the statement reads. The girlfriend took cover and the gunman turned his attention to Baldwin....
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. Ray Spencer said last week there were at least 15 rounds fired, and investigators believed the man in the car acted in self-defense.
