HOUSTON - A burglar was fatally shot in northwest Houston early Wednesday, police told KPRC Local 2.Houston police said a man kicked in the door of an apartment on Pinemont Drive near Langfield Road at about 3:15 a.m.
Two men entered the home and one of them had a gun, investigators said.
One of the tenants, 30-year-old Matthew Rixner, grabbed a shotgun and opened fire on the attackers, police said.
One of the attackers was wounded and died at the scene. Police said he was 18-25 years old, but his name was not released.
The second attacker escaped, officials said.
