 5/26/22 WCHS:

Dennis Butler was killed after allegedly shooting at dozens of people attending a graduation party Wednesday near the Vista View Apartment complex. No injuries were reported from those at the party.

Investigators said Butler was warned about speeding in the area with children present before he left. He later returned with an AR-15-style firearm and began firing into the crowd before he was shot and killed.

“Instead of running from the threat, she engaged with the threat and saved several lives last night,” Charleston Police Department Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett said.

Officers did not go into detail, but said Butler did have an extensive criminal history.

What could have been another tragedy of huge numbers of deaths ended up as one dead killer.

Syracuse, NY

Syracuse, NY — A Syracuse property manager has been identified as the person who shot and killed a 28-year-old man Tuesday after the man allegedly fired a gun of his own at multiple people.

The property manager, Richard Morose, was at 1808 Lodi St. when he pulled a legally possessed 9mm handgun and killed Demetris Jackson, the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday in a news release.

Jackson had just fired a 9mm handgun of his own at several people before Morose returned fire around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the DA’s office said, based on a preliminary investigation.

While Syracuse police and prosecutors continue to investigate, “it appears that Mr. Morose saved the lives of several individuals,” the DA’s office wrote.

FORT SMITH, Ark. —

Two people are dead following a shooting Saturday morning in Fort Smith, according to police.


Aric Mitchell, Public Information Officer for the Fort Smith Police Department, told 40/29 the shooting happen at Three Corners Townhouses on South 74th Street.


Mitchell said calls about the gunfire began coming in at 7:19 a.m. and when police arrived, two people were dead.

According to police, 87-year-old Lois Hicks was shot multiple times inside of her apartment by an individual with a semi-automatic rifle. The shooter, 26-year-old Zachary Arnold continued to shoot his rifle at neighboring apartments....

Police added that a resident at the complex heard the gunfire and shot and killed Arnold with a hunting rifle as Arnold continued to shoot at neighboring apartments.

A potential mass shooting in Oklahoma City was prevented by an armed citizen killing the gunman, the city’s police department reported Thursday evening.

 ALERT: The only confirmed fatality is the suspect. He was apparently shot-to-death by an armed citizen. Three citizens were injured, two of whom were shot. A large number of witnesses are detained. There is no indication of terrorismat this point.
