Arlington, TX

ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) – An early morning robbery attempt has landed one would-be criminal in the hospital with a gunshot wound.
According to Arlington police, an unidentified man was jogging to the gym Wednesday when he noticed a truck following him in the 6000 block of Poly Webb Road, near Interstate-20.
Reports say a juvenile passenger got out of the truck brandished a gun and demanded money from the jogger. The jogger, who was also armed, resisted, pulled his weapon and fired several times. Bullets hit the suspect in the groin area. The injured suspect ran back to the truck and quickly left the scene.

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — A woman saved herself from a dangerous situation with her pistol kept in her car Monday.
"I couldn't believe it, it was shock and fear," said the unidentified woman.
It happened at the corner of west Kootenai and south Hilton streets. A woman just dropped off her 9-year-old daughter Monday morning around 7:30 a.m. She was driving alone when a man jumped out in front of her car. She slammed on the brakes and it stalled.
After he beat her:
“When I turned to give him my purse, I reached in my center console and I grabbed my gun and I pointed it at him, and it scared him off,” the woman said.
Looks like a purple Ruger LCP.

1/23/17 Channel 4:
SAN ANTONIO - Police arrested a second suspect accused in taking part in a jewelry store robbery that turned deadly Sunday afternoon....
A shopper who tried to stop the robbery was killed by gunfire.
Another bystander who is licensed to carry a concealed weapon shot and wounded one of the suspects. The second robber got away and is believed to be the same person who wrecked the stolen car.

1/12/17 Arizona Republic:
A man traveling to California came to the rescue of a wounded state trooper who was struggling with the gunman who had shot him on an isolated stretch of Interstate 10, authorities said.
The man, who was with his wife, stopped his car when he came upon a rollover accident and saw the struggle, according to Col. Frank Milstead, Arizona Department of Public Safety director.
The trooper told the man he needed help, and the man returned to his car, got his gun and fired at the assailant when he refused to listen to orders to stop and back away, Milstead said.
The man who shot the trooper was dead, as was a woman who had been ejected from the vehicle, Milstead said.

A clerk wrestled a gun away from two men who tried to rob his Austin neighborhood store and then shot them Tuesday afternoon on the West Side, according to Chicago Police.
The botched robbery happened about 4:45 p.m. inside the small business in the 5800 block of West Chicago, police said.
One of the alleged robbers, 34, was shot in the torso and taken to Loyola University Medical Center. The other, 35, was shot in the upper leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

The 74-year-old was just about to watch the KSLA News 12 newscast Sunday night when someone wearing gloves and a mask broke into her home.
"And when I started to get up, he was in here on me with a gun facing me right to my face."
What she did next took the gunman by surprise.
Now Bowie County, Texas, sheriff's deputies are looking for the would-be bandit.
"So I had to walk right out in front of him," Rebbie Roberson said as she recalled the harrowing encounter. "I didn't know if he was going to kill me or what."
But she had her own weapon on a table nearby.
"I reached over there and grabbed this gun. And when I swerved around, I pointed it at him and he ran."
With her .38-caliber pistol in hand, Roberson said she followed him, all the while firing her gun and leaving bullet holes in the walls of her home.
